The Rancho Bernardo boys volleyball team, after putting together a perfect 8-0 record this past weekend at the Scripps Ranch Invitational, will look to carry that momentum into conference road matches against El Camino and Poway this week.

The Broncos, now holding an 18-2 overall record this season, were ranked at No. 48 in the latest ESPN RISE Fab 50 poll. The two teams above RB in the San Diego region are No. 13 Poway (15-4) and No. 20 Mt. Carmel (15-1).

Leading the Broncos’ attack is senior Tanner Clayton, a six-foot-nine force at the net. Clayton leads the team in both kills (43) and blocks (11). Other key contributors include junior White Tarren (26 kills) senior Trey White (25) and senior Dylan Wilkinson (22).

Friday’s match between Rancho Bernardo and Poway is the first of two regular season contests between the two regional powerhouses. In the four meetings last year between the two squads, the Broncos secured three victories. The final win of the season series for RB came on May 26, in a thrilling 3-2 playoff victory.

In 2010, the Titans of Poway are led by senior Danny Woodley’s 48 kills. Woodley also paces the squads in digs with 39. Senior Nik Lane has maintained a stellar attack percentage of 61.3 percent, tallying 38 kills to just five errors.
