Scripps Ranch posted five unanswered goals in the fourth quarter Friday, pulling away from La Jolla for a 14-6 conference victory in boys lacrosse action.

Junior Jake Fish showed his versatility for the Falcons’ offense, totaling two goals and four assists on the afternoon. Seniors Zack Jones and Tyler Price added a combined five scores. Despite the score being tied 4-4 at the end of the first quarter and the Vikings only trailing 9-6 at the close of the third, the fourth and final period proved to be all Falcons.

“Those are the kind of games we are looking for,” Scripps Ranch head coach Greg Alioto said. “Consistent play and complete games with effort and intensity.”

Up next for the Falcons (8-5 overall, 4-1 league) are two road games this week, the first being a Wednesday meeting against Serra and the second a Friday contest versus Cathedral Catholic.

Currently, Scripps Ranch is ranked at No. 8 in the LaxPower ratings for the San Diego region. Of the regular season opponents remaining in the Falcons’ schedule, Cathedral Catholic holds the highest position in LaxPower at No. 13.

Friday’s loss drops La Jolla to 6-6 overall and 3-2 in the league. The Vikings, positioned at No. 15 in the LaxPower poll, will host University City on Wednesday and then Patrick Henry on Friday.
